The Daily Freeman is reporting the state of New York will recognize Greene County residents Dede Terns-Thorpe and Bernice May Hoyt at a special ceremony in May, as part of the 2018 Older New Yorkers Day celebration in Albany. Both will be recognized at the May meeting of the Greene County Legislature, as well. Thorpe is the co-author of “Around Hunter,” which features stories and photos from the Mountaintop Historical Society, and writes a column in the Windham Journal. Until recently, Hoyt volunteered for the Mountain Top Food Pantry. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
