Wheelabrator withdraws application from DEC for Catskill ash dump

Columbia-Greene Media reports that Wheelabrator Technologies has withdrawn its application from the the state Department of Environmental Conservation for an ash landfill at the former Peckham Materials Inc. quarry in Smith’s Landing. DEC environmental analyst Kristy E. Primeau confirmed on June 11 that the Mined Land Reclamation and Solid Waste Management permits sought by Wheelabrator have been withdrawn.
