Record warm in Albany and Poughkeepsie in October; lots of rain in Catskills

The National Weather Service in Albany reported that the past month was the warmest October on record in Albany and Poughkeepsie. The average temperature in Albany was 57.8 in Albany, more than eight degrees above normal. There was less rain than usual in Albany in October, just 2.8 inches. Parts of the Catskills got much more than that during the Oct. 29-30 storm. Up to 7 inches of rain was recorded in parts of Greene County, with five and six inches of rain also reported in parts of Greene, Ulster, and Delaware counties.
