Lisa Fisher takes ceremonial oath

The Daily Freeman is reporting Lisa Fisher was ceremonially sworn in Thu., Dec. 18, as a new state Supreme Court justice in New York’s Third Judicial District. The ceremony was held at the Greene County Courthouse in Catskill. Fisher, a Republican from New Baltimore, was elected in November and formally begins her 14-year term in January. Fisher defeated Albany Democrat Justin Corcoran. She will be the first female judge in the district in more than a decade. The seven counties in the district include Ulster, Greene and Columbia.
