Village offers students service opportunties

Kemble reports in the Daily Freeman students in the Catskill school district are being encouraged to work with village officials under the community service requirements implemented this year. Village Board President Vincent Seeley appeared recently before the Board of Education to present options for student participation, from documenting plots and condition of the cemetery to volunteering for events at Halloween and Christmas. Under the new guidelines, students in grades 6 through 12 are required to perform an hour per month of community service.
