Gillibrand running for Senate in 2018, not president in 2020 she says

Nick Reisman reports for Spectrum News that U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said on May 1 she is “focused entirely” on running for re-election in 2018, and not thinking about running for president in 2020. “Well, I’m dedicated to serving our state as our senator and I’m running for re-election so I can continue to be their senator,” she said at Fort Drum. “I’m focused entirely on running for Senate, so yes, I’m ruling it out.” On May 1 The New York Times listed Gillibrand among Democratic possibilities to challenge Donald Trump in 2020. Gillibrand won her senate seat by 72 percent in 2012, and no Republican has filed to run against her yet. Read the full story in Spectrum News.
