Voters approve revised Germantown school budget

John Mason reports in the Register Star, voters in the Germantown Central School District approved the district's revised 2012-13 budget by a margin of more than 57 percent, Tues., June 19. Voters rejected the Board of Education's first budget proposal, which necessitated a 5.2 percent tax levy increase, last month. The revote attracted 600 voters; 334 voted in favor of the proposal, 149 voted against it. The approved spending plan totaled $13.7 million, and calls for a 1.75 tax levy increase.
