Amedore critical of executive pay raise

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting state Senator George Amedore April 1, criticized the so-called dead of night approval of a pay raise for Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. Immediately after the state budget was adopted March 31, Democratic leadership introduced a bill that would raise the governor’s salary in 2019, by $21,000 to $200,000 a year. The measure would increase the executive's salary by an additional $25,000 in 2020, and by $25,000 in 2021. Amedore said the way the raises were introduced and approved totally lacked transparency. The Rotterdam Republican said the issue was one of civic duty. Amedore voted against the pay raises and said they should have been placed before a public referendum.
