The Daily Freeman reports that there was modest job growth in the Mid-Hudson Valley and Catskills over the 12-month period ending Sept. 31. The state Department of Labor announced Oct. 19 that Greene County and Columbia County both added 200 nonfarm jobs, a 1.3 percent increase in Greene and a 0.9 percent increase in Columbia County also over the past year. Ulster County added 400 nonfarm jobs, and the Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division, added 500 nonfarm jobs. Across the entire state, the September 2017 unemployment rate was 4.9 percent, the same as the year before according to the Department of Labor. Read the full story in The Daily Freeman.
