Today is Friday the 13th, a day thought unlucky by some from generation to generation. Wikipedia explores several theories about why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky, but most trace back to Oct. 13, 1307, the day King Phillip of France arrested and killed off the Knights Templar.

The National Weather Service predicts a partly sunny day, with a high near 71. Tonight, a chance of showers, mainly after 11 p.m. Patchy fog after 2 a.m. Saturday a 40 percent chance of showers, with a high near 66. Showers likely, Saturday night and Sunday.
