C-GCC offering Subaru training program

Richard Moody is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Columbia-Greene Community College has announced it will offer an online program that provides specific training for students wishing to work for the Japanese automobile manufacturer Subaru . Beginning this fall, students in Columbia-Greene's Automotive Technology Department will be able to enroll in the program, which provides the first two levels required to become a technician at a Subaru dealership. The so-called Subaru University is offered online and can be completed at the same time students are participating in a regular, two-year associates degree program. “This is a great investment,” Greene County Legislator Aidan O’Connor Jr. said. “This is exciting. Hopefully it will give people the opportunity to live and work here. This may help grow the number of youth we have working and living here.” Graduates of the program will be eligible to work at dealerships including R.C. Lacy Ford Lincoln Subaru in Catskill.
