Andrea Macko reports in Porcupine Soup that the Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets grocery stores have merged, officials announced Feb. 8. In Greene County there is a Price Chopper in Catskill, and Tops has stores in Greenville, Tannersville, and Coxsackie. There are also Tops stores in Rhinebeck and Stamford, and there are Price Chopper stores in Saugerties, Ghent, and Great Barrington. Price Chopper and Tops issued a joint statement saying they will be, “better positioned to compete and offer even more value and outstanding services to their customers across the Northeast,” with the merger.
