Brian Nearing reports in the Albany Times Union that there will be a bounce house for children at an open house June 9 for the state's largest construction and demolition debris dump. The S.A. Dunn & Company facility on Partition Street Extension in the city of Rensselaer holds the open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 9. The dump has been getting criticism from neighbors for noise and truck traffic. The state Department of Environmental Conservation is looking at operations at the dump, which got a state permit in 2012 that lasts until 2022. Almost 50,000 trucks from New York and six other northeastern states used the facility last year, according to annual reports filed with DEC.
