Barbara Reina is reporting in the Register Star a water advisory is in effect for the village of Valatie after a water main break occurred Mon., Nov. 4, on Route 9, near the Ocean State Job Lot Plaza. Residents who use the municipal water supply are advised to boil water they intend to use for drinking or cooking. The advisory is expected to last two days to allow sufficient testing by the Columbia County Department of Health to ensure that the water is fit for consumption, according to Mayor Diane Argyle.
