Traffic up on Mid-Hudson bridges

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting traffic is up on the five bridges over the Hudson River operated by the New York State Bridge Authority this year, compared to the first six months of 2017. The total revenue also increased in the first half of 2018. The greatest increase in traffic was reported on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge with a 1.79 percent increase. Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge traffic rose by 1.06 percent while traffic on the Rip Van Winkle Bridge increased by 1.02 percent. The greatest increase in revenue during the first six months was on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, at 1.49 percent, followed by the Mid-Hudson Bridge with a 1.08 percent increase. In total, agency revenue increased by 0.83 percent, to $28 million from January through June of this year. Total crossings increased by 1.15 percent, to nearly 31 million during the same time.
