Ulster Dems pick Gallagher for comptroller

Mid-Hudson News reports that March Gallagher was chosen over Lisa Cutton as the Democratic Party’s candidate for Ulster County comptroller at a party convention June 27. Gallagher received 14,000 weighted votes to Cutton’s 8,000. Democratic Party Chairman Frank Cardinale said, “For us it was an abundance of riches; we had two great women” and he said Gallagher “will make a very good comptroller.” So far, there is no Republican candidate for the election in November. In May Ulster County Comptroller Elliott Auerbach left the post to take a position in state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli's office. Read more about this story at the Mid-Hudson News website.
