Catskill draft budget cuts town tax levy

William J. Kemble reports in the Daily Freeman a 2013 budget proposal put together by Catskill Town Supervisor Joseph Leggio would increase spending, but at the same time cut the town tax levy by two percent. Leggio said he is not certain whether the Town Board will add to the proposed spending plan, which totals nearly seven million. Leggio's budget includes a one percent cut to the town Highway Department, suggesting the possibility of a reduction in personnel. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
