Board of Supervisors creates Broadband Advisory Committee
John Mason is reporting in the Register-Star the Columbia County Board of Supervisors has created a Broadband Advisory Subcommittee, to be chaired by Gallatin Supervisor John Reilly. Reilly is the chairman of the board's Economic Development Committee. The subcommittee will advise the full board on matters pertaining to broadband internet services for county residents, and will meet regularly and provide feedback and input to supervisors, as well as to the New York State Broadband Office. The group includes four county supervisors, five representatives of elected national and state legislators, three county employees, the president of the Columbia Economic Development Corp., the advertising director of Columbia-Greene Media, serving as a representative of the Hudson Mayor’s Office, as well as a representative of the citizens group Connect Columbia and a citizen of Stuyvesant. Reilly said the organizational meeting will take place Mon., Jun. 20, at 401 State St., Hudson, prior to the Economic Development Committee meeting. Read the full story in The Register-Star.
