Dutchess Co. announces program to protect farmland

The Daily Freeman is reporting Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has announced more than $1.05 million in funding from the county's Partnership for Manageable Growth to protect 641 acres of farmland. The acreage is situated on three farms comprising dairy, equine and nursery production. "Farmland protection and promoting good stewardship of the land is an important part of combating climate change and Dutchess County is proud to continue to lead New York state in this effort,” Molinaro said.
