William J. Kemble reports in the Daily Freeman the Catskill Town Board has approved a one-year contract with the village-based Catskill Fire Department to cover parts of the town. The agreement was adopted following a Town Board public hearing, Tues., Oct. 2. Village officials said a longer contract may be sought next year. The contract approval came roughly five weeks after town residents voted against establishing a joint town-village fire district, while village residents voted in favor of the proposal.
