MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting Catskill osteopath and obstetrician-gynecologist Myra Mabry pleaded guilty August 5 in U.S. District Court to charges that she conspired to distribute controlled substances, health care fraud, aggravated identity theft and obstruction of justice. As part of her guilty plea Mabry, 50, admitted that between 2015 and 2017, she wrote numerous prescriptions for oxycodone, morphine, and hydromorphone to others for no legitimate medical purpose. She then instructed a co-conspirator to fill the prescriptions by impersonating the named patients at pharmacies, knowing that health care benefit programs would pay for the drugs. Mabry also admitted to instructing a co-conspirator to lie to a federal grand jury and to pay them for their false testimony. She will be sentenced in December by Judge Mae D’Agostino. Mabry is no longer licensed to practice in New York. Read the full story at MidHudsonNews [dot] com.
