Cairo-Durham holds forum on Princeton Plan

Kyle Adams reports in The Daily Mail Cairo-Durham school district Board of Education hosted a forum Thurs., Mar. 7, to address questions and concerns about the upcoming grade realignment plan. That plan calls for housing grades K-2 in Durham Elementary School and grades 3-5 in the Cairo Elementary School. The forum featured representatives from the Lansingburgh school district and the Cobleskill-Richmondville school district. Similar realignment plans were recently implemented in those districts. Cairo-Durham Board President Greg Koerner-Fox emphasized in his comments the decision-making phase of the process has passed and the district is now in the implementation phase. School representatives answered questions from community members about academics, operations and maintenance, transportation and finances.
