Collins drops out, throws support to Hinchey

Cayla Harris reports in the Times Union that Woodstock's Jeff Collins dropped out of the race for Democratic nominee for New York's 46th state Senate district throwing his support to Michelle Hinchey. Republican George Amedore announced recently that he will not run for reelection in 2020, leaving the seat open. Greene County activist Gary Greenberg, who helped pass the Child Victims Act last year, has announced his intention to run for the seat as a Democrat, but so far no Republicans have announced plans to run for the senate post. The 46th Senate District includes all of Montgomery and Greene counties and parts of Albany, Schenectady and Ulster counties. Read more about this story in the Times Union.
