Columbia Co. to hold back on non-union raises

Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star the Columbia County Board of Supervisors Salary Committee has postponed raises for non-union employees until 2013. The salary hikes will be withheld pending the outcome of current federal budget negotiations and the status of county's fiscal condition as of early next year. The committee agreed to budget 2.5 percent raises for non-union, management employees, but the decision to implement those raises will not occur until at least next month. Union employees will see a 2.5 percent increase in January, as negotiated. Read the full story in the Register Star.
