Coxsackie post office looking to move
Melanie Lekocevic is reporting in The Daily Mail the Climax Post Office is looking for a new home. The lease on its existing space is set to expire in October 2018. The owner of the building on County Route 26 has declined to renew the lease. The project has been approved for construction of a modular building, but a potential site for the building must be identified, Kurtis Bullard of the U.S. Postal Service said. Construction is expected to take three months. The Postal Service would lease the half acre of land needed to accommodate the 440-square-foot structure. "We [would] like to stay within the town limits," Bullard said. In preparation for the move, postal officials met with the community during the Coxsackie Town Board meeting Tue., May 9. The meeting was also the start of a 30-day comment period to gauge public opinion on the plan. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
