Tractor Supply wants to open in Greenville

Anthony Fiducia reports for Columbia-Greene Media that Tractor Supply Co. wants to open another retail location in Greenville. Bohler Engineering and Primax Properties represented the store Sept. 6 in front of the Greenville Planning Board with a proposal for a spot along Route 32 north of the Tops Plaza in the general commercial zoning district. Last year, town supervisor Paul Macko noted, Hilltown and Applebee’s, two agricultural supply stores similar to Tractor Supply Co., closed in the area. Tractor Supply has a store on Fairview Avenue in Hudson, and in Ulster County, Dutchess County, Rensselaer County, Albany County, and Saratoga County. The 8.2 acre site would include 88 parking spaces. Primax Properties Project Director Frank Alexander said, “When I first came up here, their [Tractor Supply] real estate director asked me to look at Greenville and Coxsackie and they liked Greenville better.” He said the chain typically hires about 12 to 20 employees. Getting through the planning board and construction likely means the store would not open, if approved, until late 2018. Read the full story in HudsonValley360.com.
