Hunter seeks federal grant for housing rehab

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail Hunter officials are hoping to receive funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program to help rehabilitate owner-occupied homes in the town. Following a recent public hearing, Town Board members gave the go-ahead to filing the grant application, which must occur by Feb. 27. The awards to homeowners would be income based for households at or below 80 percent of the median income for Greene County. The types of work covered by the grant must fall into one of three categories: Safety and health, weatherization or general utility and appearance. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
