Matthew Hamilton is reporting at Capitol Confidential Democrat challenger Sara Niccoli wants to debate incumbent state Senator George Amedore. In a letter to Amedore on Mon., Sept. 19, Niccoli urged the Rotterdam Republican to face off in an as yet-to-be-scheduled forum ahead of the general election. Niccoli wrote, “There is simply no reasonable excuse for claiming that over the next seven weeks you will be unable to participate in public forums and debates. And I am confident that the voters of the 46th Senate District will not reward a candidate for office who actively hides from them or from meaningful discourse and debate on their concerns." In a statement, Amedore spokeswoman Eileen Miller said “both campaigns have been in the process of setting up several opportunities for the residents of the 46th Senate district to hear from Senator Amedore and his opponent.” Read the full story at Capitol Confidential, a Times Union blog.
