Greene Co. EMS: Move to paramedics unneeded

Kemble is reporting in the Daily Freeman Greene County Emergency Medical Systems President Mark Evans says it is unnecessary for Catskill town officials to accelerate the move toward establishing a paramedic level ambulance service. Evans commented after the town promoted three Catskill Rescue Squad members from an EMT advanced-level designation last week. Catskill town Supervisor Joseph Leggio earlier this year said the town ambulance squad should prepare to become a paramedic service. Evans said, “So far as their desire to go to paramedic level, I’m not really sure why they feel the need to. It's not a cash cow. It's not even a break-even operation."
