Docked boat sinks in Catskill Creek

Sep 06, 2019 12:15 pm
MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting state environmental conservation officers patrolling on the Catskill Creek and Hudson River August 23, followed an oil sheen in the water to a boat that was 90 percent underwater. The oil was originally spotted by a marina owner, who alerted the DEC officers. When located, the boat was leaking fluids, sending a bright, multi-colored sheen down Catskill Creek. The DEC's Spill Response unit worked with the officers to contain the spill and the boat was removed from the creek later that same night. The boat owner is responsible for the cost of the water cleanup and the vessel removal. Read the full story at MidHudsonNews [dot] com.
