Greene County shared services conversations to continue

Oct 03, 2017 9:00 am

Daniel Zuckerman is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media talks over shared services in Greene County continue, even after the legislature approved a resolution in September that would have the county opt out of the statewide plan for 2017. Greene County Administrator Shaun Groden said the county is simply not ready. When it next meets, the panel will take up the idea of getting county employees together to purchase a health care plan, Groden said. With multiple county employees and their dependents signing onto a plan, it will make it easier to negotiate a better price. While there were 20 ideas for sharing services previously suggested, health care figured most prominently, Groden said. The panel's next meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on October 19 at the 911 Training Center in Cairo. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
