Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Hudson is conducting a search for a firm to provide design and construction planning for a planned $1-million renovation of Promenade Hill Park. The consultant selected will work closely with the city’s Downtown Revitalization Committee and grant management consultant, Chazen Companies, to develop, screen and advance a design for the park at 2 Warren Street. “It will be a complete renovation of the park,” Mayor Rick Rector said. The park renovation was one of 13 projects designated under the city's $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative award. "DRI funds will be used to design and implement concepts that will preserve the park’s historic features, while providing ADA access to the park plaza and expanding on ideas such as a spray pool, walkways and playground," Purcell writes. The deadline to submit an application is July 9. Select firms will be interviewed on July 16. Public meetings will be part of the design and planning process for the park.
