Lauren Halligan reports in the Troy Record that Goold Orchards, in Schodack, is being sold and will soon be known as Windy Hill Orchard - East. The Goold family started the farm in 1910 in Rensselaer County, and now includes 106-acres and 13,000 apple trees. New owners Scott and Todd Seeberger are lifelong residents of Schodack, and own the smaller Windy Hill Orchard & Farm Market in central New York. “I think they will do a great job,” said Goold Miller, granddaughter of the farm’s founders James and Bertha Goold. “They will do a nice job, and this place will continue as a family farm, which is excellent. That’s so rare these days.” The new owners plan to add the Windy Hill Cidery & Winery to the site. Read the full story in the Troy Record.
