Game of telephone going on in Hudson

Nov 19, 2016 12:06 am
Roger Hannigan Gilson reports in the Register-Star the Hudson Police Chief Edward Moore is concerned local citizens are playing a game of telephone over an alleged assault. "He said the story evolved through an internet version of the game telephone, where players in a circle whisper something to the person next to them, which is then passed on around the circle, with the original statement becoming more altered as it moves further from the first player," Gilson writes, except in this case the whispers were Facebook posts. The police chief says the alleged assault of a Hudson man last weekend was not a hate crime. “We have an allegation of an assault that’s being investigated, but there is no evidence speaking to the victim...that this was directed at the victim because of his ethnicity, sexual orientation, or anything similar,” he said.
