Columbia-Greene Media is reporting Beatrice Clappin has been named the 2017 Greene County Employee of the Year by the Greene County Legislature. Clappin is a Medical Services Specialist for the county Department of Social Services. She joined the department in 2008 as part of the Personal Care Program and expanded her duties to including help with the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, Assisted Living Program and Care at Home Program. Clappin was acknowledged for her ability to identify issues before they become problems, and always acting in a professional, but compassionate way. Clappin was described as always thinking of ways to make the world a better place.
