Katie Kocijanski reports in the Register-Star that the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival's 31st year begins July 14 with four days, 45 performers, and 5,000 to 6,000 concertgoers in Oak Hill in Greene County. The festival began as the Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival in Ancramdale in Columbia County. “We came over to Greene County in 2008 after the Rothvoss Farm was sold, we needed a new venue,” Assistant Director Mary Burdette said. “Our longtime producer, Mary Tyler Doub went to look at different sites in the winter of 2007-2008 and found the Walsh farm just off of County Route 22.” Bela Fleck, Chris Thile, Steep Canyon Rangers, The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, the Del McCoury Band, and The Wood Brothers are among the performers this year.
