McLaughlin claims that, if elected, he won't talk to Albany Times Union

Chris Churchill reports in the Albany Times Union that if Steve McLaughlin is elected Rensselaer County Executive Nov. 7, he vows not to talk to the Albany Times Union. "My comment, when we win this next Tuesday, for the next four years to the Times Union is going to be no comment," the Republican Assemblyperson said Nov. 1. "I'll talk to every other press outlet." He then said the newspaper is a "useless rag" and a "worthless rag" with reporters who are "ridiculous" and "hacks" providing "fake news." Churchill guesses that McLaughlin is upset about the Times Union's reporting on recordings in which he lashed an aide with nasty language. The Times Union also endorsed his opponent Democrat Andrea Smyth. The Albany Times Union is the largest newspaper covering Rensselaer County. Read the full story in the Albany Times Union.
