Trump blames Schumer over New York City terrorist attack
Nov 01, 2017 2:55 pm
Peter Baker reports in The New York Times that President Donald Trump "blamed" the terrorist attack that killed eight people in New York City Oct. 31 on New York Senator Chuck Schumer, "because he supported the diversity visa program enacted 27 years ago." Republican Senator Jeff Flake shot back at the president, writing on Twitter, "Actually, the Gang of 8, including @SenSchumer, did away with the Diversity Visa Program as part of broader reforms. I know, I was there." The diversity visa program was enacted 27 years ago, under Republican President George H.W. Bush. Schumer responded from the Senate floor, saying, “President Trump, instead of politicizing and dividing America, which he always seems to do at times of national tragedy, should be bringing us together and focusing on the real solution — anti-terrorism funding — which he proposed cutting in his most recent budget.” Read the full story in The New York Times. The terrorist came into our country through what is called the "Diversity Visa Lottery Program," a Chuck Schumer beauty. I want merit based.
