Greene Co. shopping bus service indefinitely suspended

May 01, 2019 2:00 pm
Sarah Trafton is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the shopping bus for seniors 60 and older provided by the Greene County Department of Aging has stopped running. The bus provides service to locations in the county throughout the week. The service abruptly stopped last month, without notice or explanation, and the bus has remained out of commission for three weeks. “I know one of the drivers so I texted her,” Leeds resident Ronnie Griffin said. “She told me that there would be no bus until further notice.” County Department of Human Services Executive Director Theresa McGee Ward did not respond to multiple requests from the paper for comment. Greene County Administrator Shaun Groden was briefed on the issue April 30. He authorized Ward to seek a temporary driver from the highway department. “We are not dumping the bus. We will get it back up and running as soon as we can,” Groden said. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
