Valatie farm honors employee

Deanna Fox reports in The Albany Times-Union that Golden Harvest Farms in Valatie honors John Henry, a worker there who came to the area from Jamaica in the 1970s. Now the farm is naming Aug. 27 John Henry Day, honoring his work creating the cider doughnuts there. "Now they call me the doughnut king," he says. "I've become widely known at Golden Harvest after all these years." Henry now also works as a liaison for migrant workers in the H-2A program who work on the farm annually.
