Board of Regents hearing budget recommendations

The Times Union is reporting as the state's education leaders and advocates are looking ahead to funding needs for the 2018-19 school year, a Board of Regents committee on early childhood education will present its budget recommendations to the board at its monthly meeting December 11. The Board of Regents makes recommendations for state funding each budget year. The Educational Conference Board is calling for a $2 billion increase in state aid for 2018-19. The Educational Conference Board is made up of numerous associations representing school administrators and business officials, teachers unions and the Parent Teacher Association.
