Cuomo signs anti-discrimination order

Scott Eidler reports in Newsday that Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order Feb. 3 stopping the state entities from doing business with companies that promote or tolerate discrimination. Cuomo said the order was needed as the federal government “rolls back critical civil rights protections.... New York will fight every action this federal administration takes that attempts to undo progress we have made,” Cuomo said in a press release. State entities include agencies or departments overseen by Cuomo, as well as all public benefit corporations, public authorities, boards, and commissions that include Cuomo-appointed leaders, the executive order says.
