There are many other July 4-related holiday events all weekend throughout the area. The Watershed Post lists several, including:
• East Durham's activities begin at 11 a.m. Sat., July 2 at the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural and Sports Centre with a parade along Route 145, continue through the afternoon with kids’ activities and vendors, and explode into fireworks at dusk.
• Windham celebrates on Monday, July 4 with a Main Street festival starting at 2 p.m., a parade at 7 p.m. and fireworks from Windham Mountain at 9 p.m.
• Cairo hosts its annual July 4 fireworks display at sunset Monday in Angelo Canna Park behind Main St.
• In Delaware County, The Margaretville Fire Department hosts fireworks on both Saturday, July 2 and Monday, July 4 at their Field Days celebration.
• In Dutchess County, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park is open July 2 for a Family Fun Day to celebrate the museum’s 75th anniversary with a circus, live swing dance music, tethered hot air balloon rides, a raptor show, and other events.
