Ghent bridge repair expected to take months

Jul 28, 2017 6:45 am

Claire Gilbert is reporting in The Columbia Paper the Ghent Town Board voted last week to repair and replace the Angel Hill Road bridge. The bridge was recently closed after it was damaged by a truck. Highway Superintendent Benjamin Perry estimated the road would not be completely repaired until spring. Councilman Charles Wood said the closed road would add considerable time for a fire company response and the board agreed the project took precedence over other town projects. The town will first consult with the Albany-based engineering firm of Barton and Loguidice. The cost of the first phase of the repair and replace projected is estimated to be approximately $9,000.
