New York State's foliage report says that, "Peak foliage is anticipated this weekend in the Catskills. Spotters in Bovina predict 90 percent color change and peak foliage with plenty of red, yellow, orange, and purple/brown leaves. In Greene County, reports from above 1500’ in Windham, Hunter, and Haines Falls predict peak conditions and leaves will be 90 percent changed with very brilliant red, yellow and purple leaves. Catskill spotters project peak foliage with 90% color change, with very brilliant and rapidly changing shades of red, yellow, and orange." The Greenville Pioneer reports on how local businesses are adapting to leaf season, when they usually would have lots of tourists. At the Mountain View Brasserie in Greenville, new owner Val Nishefci is emphasizing outdoor dining, with the restaurant's view of the Catskill Mountains. “There’s a beautiful view of the Catskill Mountains, and they can see the fall foli-age as they’re dining,” Nishefci said.
