Hamilton to run for mayor of Hudson

A second candidate has entered the 2015 Hudson mayor's race. Tiffany Martin Hamilton confirmed in an interview with Tom DePietro on WGXC Thu., Jan. 15, that she is seeking a spot on the November ballot. Hamilton declared her intention to run for mayor to the Hudson Democratic Committee, Tue., Jan. 14. Hamilton is currently the vice president of the Hudson City Board of Education and a member of the Hudson Pride Board of Directors. In July, Hamilton founded Hudson Forward, a citizens' group that hopes to influence the political discourse in the city. She said Thursday, it is likely some Hudson Forward friends will be involved in her campaign, but the two organizations will remain separate. Hamilton said she's been contemplating the run for quite a while, and it is clear to her people want change. "It's time for the government of Hudson to be more reflective of the population," Hamilton said. Businesswoman Barbara Dague announced in October 2014, she will run for mayor.
