Jimmy Vielkind is reporting at Capitol Confidential investor Sean Eldridge known in political circles for his advocacy of marriage equality and public financing of political campaigns, is considering a run against Congressman Chris Gibson. Eldridge filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission earlier this month. Born in Canada, Eldridge runs Hudson River Ventures, a firm headquartered in Kingston. He is married to Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes. Eldridge filed a statement of candidacy and has hired a political consulting and advertising firm. A staffer with the firm said the 26-year-old is seriously considering a run for the seat.
