Victoria Addison is reporting in The Daily Mail U.S. Rep. John Faso spoke with constituents by phone, Mon., Mar. 13. On Monday, the Kinderhook Republican fielded 18 questions from residents of the 19th Congressional District over the internet and telephone from his Washington, D.C. office, said Faso's Communication Director, Courtney Weaver. Weaver said 3,200 listeners participated in an hour-long "tele-town meeting." Twenty thousand district residents were contacted about the call and approximately 1,200 signed up ahead of time to participate. The main topic of discussion was health care, Faso said. “I think health care was the most prevalent because that’s most of the news and I think it’s on most people’s minds,” he said. Information about the call was posted on his website, Faso said. “I did this one after two months in office and I will probably do another in two months,” Faso said. Faso has steadfastly refused to hold traditional, in-person town hall meetings in the district since joining Congress, even though his predecessors, Chris Gibson and Scott Murphy, held public events in the face of local criticism.
