Mid-Hudson News reports that Columbia County had the lowest unemployment in the Hudson Valley in October, at just 1.9 percent. That was down from 2.9 percent a year ago, and 2.4 percent in September. Greene County, by contrast, was at 2.5 percent in October, down from 3.1 percent the month before, and 3.7 percent in October 2021. Dutchess and Ulster counties, meanwhile, were both at 2.2 percent unemployed in October. Statewide in October, the rate of joblessness was 3.4 percent, down from 4.3 percent in October 2021.
