Hudson public hearings on bike trail, Mid-Hudson agreement, Monday

Jul 09, 2018 5:45 am
Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media a public hearing will be held July 9 on the proposed bike trail slated to come through Hudson. The trail would be part of the Empire State Trail, an initiative intended to create a 750-mile bike trail and walking pathway from New York City to Canada and from Albany to Buffalo by the end of 2020. Under the proposal, the trail would enter Hudson from the south, beginning from Route 9G/23B, and continue north along Third Street. From West Third Street it would proceed along Allen to Front Street, and east toward Dock Street. And from Dock to Mill Street and then onto The Dugway, a walking path. The trail would then continue along Harry Howard Avenue to Joslen Boulevard at the Greenport boundary. The public hearing will be held 6:30 p.m., Mon., Jul. 9, at City Hall, 520 Warren St. The bike trail public hearing will be preceded by an opportunity for public comment on the proposed cable television franchise agreement between Mid-Hudson Cablevision and the city of Hudson. The Hudson Common Council is expected to discuss the Empire State Trail route at its informal meeting, immediately following the public hearings, beginning at 7 p.m. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
